Missions

Christ United Fellowship is committed to supporting missions both in our community and throughout the world.  Here is a look at some of the missions we support.

 

Local missions:

Grace House Pregnancy Resource Center:
An organization dedicated to offering life-affirming options to women faced with unplanned pregnancies

Salvation Army:
A mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination

Mission Discretionary Fund:
The Missions Ministry of Christ United Fellowship supports urgent emergency needs or special mission-oriented activities of the congregation or local community, to include but not be limited to disaster relief, personal crises, and emergency situations. 

Barracks of Hope:

Barracks of Hope provides transitional housing for up to 9 months for male and female veterans
who have struggled with homelessness, addiction, and mental health (like PTSD). Single
occupancy rooms are provided along with mental health counseling, case management, group
sessions, assistance locating permanent housing, and three meals a day. Only those with
military service and no dishonorable discharge are eligible to live there. Referrals are made by
the VA or Halifax Urban Ministries.
The main support of Barracks of Hope is Halifax Urban Ministries*, Veterans Administration
grants, other outside agencies like Ormond Strong, and private donations.

 

 

 

Volunteer Missions

Angel Tree:
Providing Christmas gifts for children who have family that is incarcerated

Journey's End Animal Sanctuary:
Donating newspapers and blankets for animals

Neighborhood Center:
Donating food, toiletries, blankets, and clothing for the homeless

Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse):
Filling shoeboxes with children's toiletries, toys, shoes, bible stories, etc for children all over the world

Veteran's Services:
Boosting the morale of our deployed troops by sending care packages, toiletries, games, cards/letters, etc.
