Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I choose right here and right now to set my mind and focus completely on You.  Not just for this moment, but for as long as You have me in this world.  I choose right here and right now to Never create in my mind or fashion with my hands any false god.

For You alone are the One and Only True and Living God; the God of the Holy Scripture You breathed into being.  I choose right here and right now to obey Your every word and do Your will now and always.  I thank You with my whole heart for Your endless blessings in my life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading: Exodus 20:1-6

The Ten Commandments

20 And God spoke all these words:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

“You shall have no other gods before[a] me.

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
